Ice-cream Cone Hands

I have been telling my clients for years to hold the reins so that they make them look like an ice-cream cone. Then I remind them not to let it "melt". Now I shocked them with ice-cream cone bubbles. It made a nice visual to teach them the concept.

It was also good for pretend play!

  1. Hi, I throughly enjoy reading your posts. I'm a horse lover and an occupational therapy student about to begin my 3rd year and I have to organise my own role emerging placement. I'm keen to work with horses and would love to work in this environment implementing some of your ideas. How would you suggest going about this? What areas would you suggest I approach?

    Thank you

  2. I don't really understand what you are asking. there are hippotherapy facilities all over the world you can check out and you are welcome to use my ideas. Lots of info at the American Hippotherapy Association website :-)
Please communicate , learn and share on my facebook business page at The Recycling Occupational Therapist......

    1. Thank you for getting back to me. I can understand where I confused you. I live in the North East of the England and while there are many riding schools only few offer riding for the disabled. I have now been able to find 2 possible locations that offer riding for the disabled that don't currently have occupational therapists, I'm hoping to implement my knowledge and hopefully become an asset to them. Thank you for permission to use your ideas.

  3. and of course I highly recommend that you buy my books, too :-)

The digital book on Kindle is only $8.50. It has many descriptions and photos of some of the blog posts which I deleted, all activities that I use while doing hippotherapy.
    Best of luck,
    Barbara
