Hey, I would love to read about other therapists and what works and doesn't work. Can anyone recommend a similar blog about hippotherapy?

Add my blog if you wish, I know you emailed and i replied. i will definately tell my Riding Instructor/Horsetalk Manager/Hippotherapy ST/Speech pathologist About your blog. She can post some of what she has done in there too. The last i heard that there isn't that many hippoptherapy locations in America, but many Therapuetic riding facilities. Do you agree with that?
ReplyDeleteHi Barb!
ReplyDeleteMy son Dillon is 2 1/2yrs old w/Down Syndrome. I have been told that because of his extreme low muscle tone, he may not walk until he is 3 & w/the assistance of a walker. I have heard great things about Hippotherapy so I went ahead & started him with it. However, because of the cold weather, I have decided to wait until it got a little warmer out for him to start up again. He did have 1 session last month & did AMAZINGLY WELL! I was so impressed with how well his hips got to moving & how Dillon was able to take 6 steps with no hands! He has been at the cruising stage since August of 08.
Barbara,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog: http://blogofthebutterfly.wordpress.com I had already found your OT website, and bookmarked it, as I was very impressed by your creativity! Now I will follow this site too. I had heard of the book you mentioned, and hope to purchase it soon. Thanks! nickerbean
Thanks Lori,
ReplyDeleteIt is always great to hear that someone is actually reading all this stuff!!
I am following hippotherapy blogs via the goole blog alert and hope to read about how your hippotherapy business develops. I have the childrearing years behind me now (son is 20 years old) but love having my hippotherapy children keeping me busy.
